The successful candidate will have an ongoing research program that focuses on youth tobacco epidemiology and prevention. A research focus on tobacco prevention, broadly defined, could include the prevention of tobacco use, the effectiveness of intervention programs, or the development and evaluation of systems change to build integrated community prevention for children, youth, and families, etc. Other relevant research directions include social, cognitive, or epidemiological factors that influence early tobacco use including stress coping mechanisms, cognitive or social factors, contextual influences (e.g., peers, family), and social policy. more >>
Assistant or Associate Professor of Biobehavioral Health (Immigrant Family)
The Department of Biobehavioral Health, College of Health and Human Development, at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will have an ongoing research program that focuses on the health and behavior of immigrant children and youth in their family or community contexts. The applicant`s research should be translational and integrative, and focus on mechanisms and processes for improving the physical and/or mental health of immigrant children and their families. The focus of the research might include cardiovascular health, obesity, stress coping mechanisms, health impacts of acculturation, and health promotion interventions focused on children and youth, families, or communities.
