432- Biobehavioral
Aspects of Stress
BBH
432 is an upper level undergraduate class, exploring the effects of stress
exposure on human physiology and coping behaviors. Use of primary research
articles allows students to learn the most recent findings on stress and
health. This class has a major focus on physiology of the stress
responsive systems (cardiovascular, immune, endocrine, etc).
BBH 502 or
Psy 502 - Health - Biobehavioral Perspectives
BBH 502 is a graduate seminar in
Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine and is one of the core courses in the
graduate program. Team taught with Dr. Lynn Kozlowski, this course surveys
the major subfields of Health Psychology: health beliefs/behaviors,
minority health, psychological and behavioral factors in diabetes,
cardiovascular disease and cancer, preventative medicine, and women's
health. Discussions focus on analyses of research methodology, with
careful attention to review of figures, graphs, and conclusions drawn by
investigators.
BBH 101H - Introduction to Biobehavioral Health (Honors)
BBH 101H is an undergraduate course designed to introduce students to basic principles related to health, with an emphasis on environmental, social and psychological influences. Discussions focus on health as a state of physical, mental, and social well-being, and not just as the absence of disease. This course will prepare you for other courses in the Biobehavioral Health Department as well as for other courses in the health sciences.
